We need YOU (yes, you) to help us find items that belong on How do you submit something? It’s so easy, monkeys can do it, and in fact they’re already way ahead of you.

First, read the page that explains the purpose of this site. That will (hopefully) give you a feel for the sort of thing we’re looking for.

To summarize, though, it’s odd quotes from people, bad writing (we LOVE bad writing), and anything else strange and/or funny that the English language has to offer. Things from other languages that sound funny when translated into English please us, also.

We are NOT interested in bad writing that is intentionally bad. It is often funny and has its place, but that place is not here.

Student newspapers are a particularly good source, being, as they are, chock-full of bad writing and weird statements Also, our friend the Internet is a veritable goldmine, as it has even less-strict standards than student papers.

Next, e-mail us through the Contact Page. Send as much information as you can. If the quote came from TV, tell us the date, time, and the name of the program, as well as who said it and in what context. If it’s from a newspaper, tell us which paper and the date it appeared. (If the paper has a Web site, give us that, too.) We like as much documentation as possible. If it was just something you overheard someone say at the grocery store, we won’t ask you to chase the person down and get his or her name; we’ll trust you that it actually happened.

If you would like to remain anonymous in your submission, just say so. Otherwise, include your name and e-mail address so we can properly credit you.

Please see our submission content guidelines for more information.
